We are seeking a Laboratory Technician Level 1 to join our team!  This candidate is a technically and mechanically-skilled individual capable of modifying and building prototype furnaces test units and performing airflow, motor heat rise, sound and other product safety tests. This is an entry-level position.

This is full-time, hourly position located in Denton, NC.  Hours are Monday – Friday 7 am – 3:30 pm, with some variations depending on need.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.   Other duties may be assigned. 

• Providing quick, efficient, and accurate technical service while assisting project engineers on various projects
• Handling the complete setup and instrumentation according to prescribed standards
• Data entry of test results
• Fabricating prototypes
• Potential travel for field assistance 

Qualifications/Requirements:  

• A strong mechanical aptitude.
• The skills required to physically test, operate, manipulate, and handle forced air furnaces normal to our product line
• Capability of physically moving and lifting the heating units in and out of test apparatuses and rooms
• Understand and use PC based word processing, data acquisition and spreadsheets
• Superior critical thinking and problem solving skills
• 1 or 2 year Technical Degree or Certificate is recommended but not required
• Fundamentals of electricity, controls, instrumentation and safety

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
