We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team! This position inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure quality and reliability.
This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Occasional mandatory overtime with a 5 AM start time.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Continuously improve Incoming Receiving processes to be more proactive in finding issues rather than reactive. Prepare, update, and coordinate incoming inspection plans as needed.
- Review incoming material/parts from vendors to check for defects, ensure quality and authorize release.
- Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities with Suppliers. Create, issue and complete Supplier Corrective Action Requests. Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of corrective action process and quality tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with Operations to monitor quality of materials/parts.
- Investigate, contain, and resolve supplier non-conformances found at the plant.
- Facilitate returns of nonconforming product suppliers. And ensure correct inventory transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance process performance and reduce defects.
Secondary duties include:
- Assist with boiler assembly line inspections.
- Assist with carton packing inspections.
- Serve as a leader for the QA team. Supervise the QA team in the QA Supervisor’s absence.
- Other duties as seen fit by the QA Supervisor or Manager

Education and/or Experience
Two or more years experience in a manufacturing or a quality assurance environment preferred. A minimum of an Associate’s degree is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or ASQ certifications is a plus. Knowledge of ASME Code, dimensional measurement, electrical testing, machining processes, casting processes, and reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical prints preferred.
Mathematical skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word), and Avante. PowerPoint knowledge preferred.
