In this full-time role, you'll serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking legal support, guiding them through the intake process with empathy, clarity, and professionalism. You'll help potential new clients (PNCs) feel heard and supported during one of the most challenging moments of their lives while helping our firm deliver the excellence and integrity we're known for. We understand that everyone works differently. That's why after a successful training and onboarding period (completed on-site), you'll have the option to work fully remotely or adopt a hybrid schedule-depending on your preference and performance. WHAT MATTERS MOST
To excel as a Client Development Specialist at Burnham Law Firm, candidates must possess a unique blend of skills and experiences. Previous experience in legal intake, client development, sales, or customer service is highly preferred, as it equips you to manage client interactions effectively. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong, active listening abilities and emotional intelligence, particularly when engaging with individuals in distressing circumstances.
You should be comfortable managing high volumes of phone and email communication while remaining organized and detail-oriented. Proficiency in Gsuite and legal intake tools is required, or you must be eager to learn these systems quickly. Self-motivation, reliability, and adaptability to shifting priorities are crucial for success in this dynamic role.
Experience in a law firm setting is a significant advantage. Bilingualism in Spanish or other languages is a bonus, expanding your ability to connect with diverse clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the team and firm.
- Respond promptly to inbound leads via phone, email, and online inquiries
- Gather and input detailed information into our intake system
- Build rapport and trust with individuals navigating emotionally charged legal issues
- Schedule consultations with attorneys and ensure all necessary information is prepared
- Follow up on unresponsive leads and assist with client outreach
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure a seamless transition from intake to representation
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all client communication and documentation
- Perform conflict checks
- Track lead source and conversation data to support marketing and business developments
- Assist with administrative support like uploading documents, confirming information, etc.,
- Ability to assist with optional after-hours or weekend on-call coverage is a plus ( Monday - Friday 6 PM - 9 PM, Saturday - Sunday 9 AM - 9 PM, Holidays 9 AM - 9 PM)
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Bilingual in Spanish (or other languages) is a bonus but not required
- Experience in legal intake, client development, sales, or customer service is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to support clients experiencing distress
- Comfortable managing high-volume communication by phone and email
- Strong data entry skills and the ability to navigate intake systems efficiently
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize in fast-paced environments
- Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable to shifting priorities
- Experience in a law firm is a major plus
