What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Designer position at Burnich Cabinets?
Who We Are:
Burnich Cabinets is a locally owned business that helps homeowners, builders, and remodelers bring their kitchens and baths to life. From cabinet and countertops ranging from budget conscious to fully custom, we provide start-to-finish service that prioritizes quality and craftsmanship. Based in Missoula, MT, we pride ourselves on being a trusted partner in creating beautiful and functional living spaces.
Burnich has undergone a business process transformation by implementing LEAN . The core premise of Lean is to eliminate waste within a process by focusing on creating value for the customer, achieving this by identifying and removing any steps or activities that do not directly add value to the final product or service; essentially, doing more with less by optimizing workflows and minimizing unnecessary actions.
What You’ll Do:
As a Kitchen & Bath Cabinet Designer, your role will combine creativity, problem-solving, and customer service. You’ll collaborate with customers through the design, contracting, ordering, and installation. Every day will bring something new, whether you’re meeting clients in the showroom, drafting layouts using 2020 Design software, or ensuring accurate measurements at the customer's location.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design stunning kitchen and bath layouts using 2020 Design software.
- Guide clients through the design and sales process, from consultations to installation follow-ups.
- Perform on-site measurements to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Manage orders, quotes, and project timelines with precision and care.
- Collaborate with contractors, builders, and installers to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Maintain an inviting, organized showroom to inspire and support clients.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused problem solver with the following skills and attributes:
- Strong Communication: You’re comfortable interacting with customers, contractors, and colleagues—whether in person, on the phone, or via email.
- Attention to Detail: You thrive on accuracy and organization, ensuring no detail slips through the cracks.
- Eagerness to Learn: You’re ready to dive into new tools and processes, like 2020 Design software and Epicor BisTrack (Quotes, POs, Orders).
- Adaptability: You can balance competing priorities and navigate a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
- Collaborative Spirit: You value teamwork and are open to feedback from installers and other team members.
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in kitchen design, cabinetry sales, or the construction industry.
- Familiarity with 20/20 Design software or other CAD software
- Background in trim carpentry or cabinetry installation.
- General knowledge of building practices.
What You’ll Gain:
- Hands-On Training: Learn to master the design process from industry experts.
- Creative Fulfillment: Turn dreams into reality with designs that make a difference in people’s lives.
- Supportive Team: Join a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued.
