Job Description
An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office.
This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs.
- Assist lead engineers with various project duties.
- Research solutions to project concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
Key Areas of Focus
- Transmission & Distribution: Planning and design of electrical transmission projects in power delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and Power Point presentation.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Pursuit of Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
- Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs.
