Burns & McDonnell is seeking to hire a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to support the Corporate Fleet group in Kansas City, Missouri. The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of our company's fleet vehicles or equipment, overseeing maintenance schedules, authorizing mechanical and collision work orders, ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating logistics, and maintaining accurate vehicle records to keep the fleet operational, safe, and cost-effective.
Responsibilities to include:
- Authorize required maintenance and repairs on global company fleet.
- Review and authorize repairs with collision centers.
- Submit claims to insurance companies as applicable.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of the fleet.
- Coordinate vehicle transportation to and from project sites.
- Develop maintenance and refurbish standards for fleet vehicles.
- Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure fleet and maintenance standards are met.
- Provide exceptional service to internal clients.
- Maintain key contacts with industry maintenance providers.
- Provide leadership and coaching to department regarding fleet maintenance matters.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years related professional experience. May also have an Associate degree and 10 years related professional experience or a High school diploma and 11 years related professional experience.
- Experience as an automotive service advisor, shop foreman or lead mechanic; corporate fleet experience or fleet experience in the transportation industry required, GM preferred.
- Experience in DOT Compliance preferred (driver requirements, HOS management, drug testing and safety)
- Thorough knowledge of all types of automobiles with specific experience with Mitchell, All-data, Chilton or similar mechanical and collision repair programs.
- Mechanical repair knowledge required.
- Experience in preventative maintenance of commercial vehicles.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivator seeking process improvement.
- Budgeting experience necessary.
- Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, SharePoint).
