General Description:
Semi-skilled worker who has one (1) year of craft helper experience and who can read and understand manuals, publications and other relevant instructions. Must exhibit initiative, be cooperative and willing to follow instructions. Must supply and use minimal hand tools.

1. The ability to apply principles of rational system to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, and diagrammatic or schedule form.
2. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and metrics; to calculate surfaces, volume, weights, and measures. Use formulas as found in Industry Approved Trade handbooks.
3. The ability to read and comprehend safety signs and instructions in English; read and understand instructions in English in the correct use and care of tools and equipment; read and understand "Warning Labels" in English that are placed on various containers; also, read procedures in English in mechanical drawing and layout work. The ability to write reports in English with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
