Burns & McDonnell is seeking to hire experienced Piping Engineers for our Oil, Gas & Chemical global practice. As a Piping Engineer, you will work on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments throughout the refining, midstream, chemicals and renewables market sectors. Our Piping Engineers work on project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting piping plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. Responsibilities to include :
- Development of project deliverables such as Design Basis, Coatings and Insulation Specifications, Piping Stress Analysis packages, Pipe Material Specifications, Procurement Specifications, and all associated material reports.
- Working with buyers to develop purchase orders to support the procurement of all project piping materials, including participating in kickoff and pre-fabrication meetings to ensure vendor alignment with project documents.
- Establishing the project quality and NDE requirements for all piping materials and working with Supplier Quality to ensure all materials are supplied and fabricated per code and owner's engineering standards.
- Drawing and design development will be by others, but the Piping Engineer will be responsible for reviewing all piping drawings to ensure code and owner's standards compliance, and that flexibility and structural integrity requirements have been met with associated pipe stress analysis.
- Applies strong knowledge of commonly used piping engineering / design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the piping engineering services industry.
- Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations at client jobsites.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
