Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Senior Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist to lead project teams and provide technical expertise in risk assessment, vapor intrusion, and ecological risk assessment. As a key member of our Geology team, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, developing project strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, and state-led regulations, as well as experience conducting risk assessments on emerging contaminants. A bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of related professional experience, is required.
This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $120,000.00-$170,000.00 annually, reflecting the firm's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. In addition to a base salary, employees are eligible to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the completion of human health and ecological risk assessments consistent with federal and state standards.
- Provide technical guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members and assist in coordinating technical training, career development, and thought leadership within areas of expertise.
- Assist clients in stakeholder management activities related to contaminant toxicology, vapor intrusion, and risk assessment.
- Project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling, and budget management.
- Some marketing responsibilities will be required and regular meeting and correspondence with clients, agencies, subcontractors, or outside personnel will be necessary.
- Lead project strategy development and preparation of risk assessment and vapor intrusion work plans and reports for CERCLA, RCRA, and other state-led programs.
- Effectively balance billable and non-billable time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or a related life science discipline or related field from an accredited curriculum.
- Minimum 8 years of related professional experience in environmental risk assessment.
- Strong vapor intrusion experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of and current knowledge of applicable CERCLA, RCRA, and state-led regulations and regulatory programs.
- Experience conducting risk assessments on emerging contaminants is preferred.
- Technical leadership and project management experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a team framework.
- Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform technical project tasks, etc.) are also a prerequisite.
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
