Funeral Director
Location : Fair Lawn, NJ
Shift : Full time with every other weekend (Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday)
Salary : Starts at $75,000 but compensated based on experience
Requirements :
1 year(s) of Funeral Director experience (preferred)
Mortuary Science License (required)
Responsibilities :
Preparation, dressing, cosmetology and casketing for all funerals in two locations
Assist with funerals and direct, if necessary, funerals in two locations.
Make arrangements when necessary and do all follow up, such as scheduling with clergy (church), cemetery, auto equipment (through VPLS) and vault company.
When necessary, will oversee visitation and services during the day, evenings (when on call) and weekends.
Follow the instructions of the senior director as it pertains to meeting the needs and requirements of the families that are served.
Miscellaneous duties :
Overnight coverage 1 night per week and assist on weekend after hour coverage every other weekend.
Monthly check of prep room and cars as a requirement of OSHA.
Will make removals as time allows.
Will not have any responsibility with the financial aspect of the funeral with the exception of making arrangements and verifying that all funds are available for a funeral in the absence of the senior director.
May work as a porter or perform other tasks as an option when off and be paid at a "trade rate."
