What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Technician II position at Burnside Truck Service?
We have one position open for a skilled Diesel Mechanic on our diesel tech team. This position consists of roadside service as well as shop service work. If you have experience with mobile service, be sure to mention it in your resume.
Our Service Techs are expected to have a minimum experience as follows:
- Service Tech II (3 years exp)
The ideal candidate will have experience with Semi Truck Engine Repair, Repairing Air Brake systems, Suspension Systems, Drivelines, APUs, PTOs, Roper/Ranger pumps, Reading Schematics, and Troubleshooting Electrical Systems.
If you have knowledge of hydraulic systems, that is a definite plus!

**Responsibilities:**
- Diagnose and repair various diesel engines (Paccar, Cummins, Detroit, CAT, etc).
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines to ensure proper functionality
- Provide and use hand tools to repair diesel engine components, chassis, and other related truck parts.
- Use diagnostic equipment to inspect and troubleshoot diesel check engine codes and other related system software codes.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair any and all suspension-related components on a semi truck.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot engine issues
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair transmission and gear-related drive line issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed
**Skills:**
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
- Strong knowledge of air brake systems and their maintenance
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for engine repairs
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
