Cleaner - 2nd Shift (Temporary)

The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Central School District is currently seeking a reliable and dedicated cleaner (2nd shift) to join our school district's custodial team at our High School. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all designated areas of the school are kept clean, safe, and orderly. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently or as part of a team, follow cleaning schedules and procedures, and be able to identify and report any maintenance issues.

Temporary Assignment: February 27, 2025 - June 30, 2025

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize designated areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas of the school.
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning tools and machines.
• Restock and maintain janitorial supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure that all areas are cleaned thoroughly and in a timely manner.
• Notify maintenance staff of any maintenance or repair issues.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a custodial or cleaning position is preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to work the required 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma; OR
• Three months of building cleaning experience; OR
• Successful completion of a job training or job readiness program.

Special Requirements

A valid New York State Driver's License is Required
