As a Community Behavioral Health Liaison, your primary responsibility is to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders in order to increase awareness and understanding of behavioral health issues in the community. You will conduct outreach and engagement activities to connect individuals to needed services, provide education and training to professionals and community members, and advocate for policies and practices that support improved access to high-quality behavioral health care. Additionally, you will assist clients with case management, coordinate program development efforts, collect and analyze data on program outcomes, respond to crises, and ensure cultural competence in all interactions and programming. Ultimately, your role is to act as an advocate, educator, connector, and problem solver to improve overall behavioral health outcomes in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Building Relationships: Developing and maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, social service agencies, schools, law enforcement, and other community organizations to promote behavioral health awareness and education.
- Outreach and Engagement: Conducting outreach activities in the community to identify individuals who need services and engaging them in appropriate care. This can include providing information about available resources and making referrals to local providers.
- Education and Training: Providing training and educational opportunities for professionals, community members, and other stakeholders on topics related to behavioral health, such as mental illnesses, addiction, trauma-informed care, and recovery supports.
- Advocacy: Advocating for policies and practices that support improved access to quality behavioral health services and reduce stigma around mental illness and addiction.
- Case Management: Assisting clients in navigating complex systems of care by coordinating services across multiple providers and ensuring continuity of care.
- Program Development: Collaborating with partners to develop new programs and initiatives that address specific needs within the community.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting data on program outcomes and using it to evaluate effectiveness and make improvements.
- Crisis Response: Responding to crises in the community related to mental health or addiction, including suicide prevention efforts, overdose response, and crisis intervention.
- Cultural Competency: Ensuring all interactions and programming are culturally competent and inclusive, taking into account the unique experiences and perspectives of diverse populations.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Requires a master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related behavioral health field and be an experienced, qualified mental health professional
- Prefer LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC Work independently, able to follow direction, and accept supervision
- Establish effective relationships via telephone and personal, face-to-face contacts
- Adaptability (ability to perform effectively in the face of changing job demands Initiative (taking necessary and appropriate action on one’s own)
