SCHOOL BASED SUPPORT SPECIALIST

***Key Responsibilities***

• Intervention and Collaboration: Provide on-site intervention in area schools for clients enrolled in the program, collaborating closely with school staff to ensure appropriate client care and support.
• Progress Monitoring: Participate in the process of monitoring client progress in treatment programs, tracking successes and challenges to inform future treatment plans and strategies.
• Individualized Treatment Plans: Develop tailored treatment plans for each client, taking into account unique needs, goals, and circumstances to promote optimal recovery and well-being.
• Client Support and Advocacy: Serve as a trusted resource for clients, providing individualized assistance in accessing necessary mental health services and completing daily living tasks, while advocating for their best interests.
• Community Engagement: Connect clients with various community agencies and resources, offering ongoing social, vocational, educational, and recreational support and activities to foster personal growth and independence.

• Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields of study:
  Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling

• Work experience in a related human services field may substitute for educational requirements. *Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more. ***Four years of qualifying experience minimum or a combination of education and experience equaling four years required.***
