Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and promoting their mental health and well-being? Burrell Behavioral Health is currently seeking a dedicated School Based Support Specialist to join our team in Springfield, Missouri. As a School Based Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with school staff and provide on-site intervention for clients enrolled in our program.

***Key Responsibilities***

  • Intervention and Collaboration: Provide on-site intervention in area schools for clients enrolled in the program, collaborating closely with school staff to ensure appropriate client care and support.
  • Progress Monitoring: Participate in the process of monitoring client progress in treatment programs, tracking successes and challenges to inform future treatment plans and strategies.
  • Individualized Treatment Plans: Develop tailored treatment plans for each client, taking into account unique needs, goals, and circumstances to promote optimal recovery and well-being.
  • Client Support and Advocacy: Serve as a trusted resource for clients, providing individualized assistance in accessing necessary mental health services and completing daily living tasks, while advocating for their best interests.
  • Community Engagement: Connect clients with various community agencies and resources, offering ongoing social, vocational, educational, and recreational support and activities to foster personal growth and independence.

Education (or experience as outlined below) requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields of study:

Psychology*
Social Work*
Sociology*
Education*
Criminal Justice*
Family Studies*
Counseling*
Recreational Therapy*
Human Services*
Human Development & Family Studies*
Child Development*
Gerontology*
Behavioral Science*
Rehabilitation Counseling*

OR....

  • Work experience in a related human services field may substitute for educational requirements. *Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more.
