Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of 2D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings, including instrument location plans, isometrics, and sketches.
- Learn to analyze and make recommendations regarding solutions to complex problems based on project objectives and guidelines.
- Develop and review design specifications, including design criteria, under supervision.
- Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with the development and checking of drawings, including instrument index and location plans.
- Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
- Gain exposure to different areas of the I&E design process and develop a strong understanding of technical design principles.
- A combination of education and directly related experience equivalent to 1-2 years.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a time-conscious and efficient manner.
- Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in a technical field of study.
- Basic knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Familiarity with fieldwork and practical design experience.
- Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, and presentation programs.
