Burrow Global is seeking to hire two Electrical Designer – H.V. Substation Design for a significant capital project with a Petrochemical plant in the Pasadena, TX area. The successful candidates will provide drafting design support for a H.V. substation upgrade project.
Daily Responsibilities:
Work independently to perform substation design tasks, CADD design, develop design drawings and documents, modeling and/or analysis, prepare material lists, perform field reviews, and other tasks for moderately complex to highly complex projects.
Prepare engineering drawings, including One Line Diagrams, General Arrangements Sections, Grounding & Conduit Plans, Foundation Plans, Material Lists (BOM), Relay and Control Systems Schematics and Wiring Diagrams.
Perform calculations, reports and designs for H.V. electrical substations systems to support engineers.
Understand client standards and complete small to moderately complex projects, exercising judgement in design criteria, evaluation, and design, subject to review by engineers.,
Based upon experience, can perform most designs responsibilities without assistance on moderately complex projects, and may work independently, but with some engineering guidance on complex projects.
Ability to communicate clearly with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and client Stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
5 years of experience with substation design
Active TWIC Card
Desired Skills:
Proficiency using Microsoft Office
Proficiency using AutoCAD and MicroStation
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
