Position Summary:
Provides a variety of services to support Material Recovery Facility/Transfer Station operations, including sweeping and cleaning, litter control, transfer trailer load trimming, and other cleaning/maintenance tasks.
SALARY RANGE: $20.50/hour - $22.25/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to identify and address instances of litter and illegal dumping.
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to safely collect and dispose of litter, adhering to established safety guidelines.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of litter collection activities, including the type and quantity of litter collected.
- Prepare regular reports on litter control efforts and provide insights for improvement.
- Equipment and Truck Maintenance:
- Ensure that all litter control equipment, such as grabbers, bags, and safety gear, is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Confirm the trucks are cleaned out and swept.
- Guarantee truck and axle scales are cleaned and properly maintained.
- Report any equipment issues and collaborate with the maintenance team for timely resolution.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about local and state regulations regarding litter control and waste management.
- Ensure all activities comply with environmental laws and company policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for community engagement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to litter control.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1-year work experience working in and around heavy equipment, required
- Previous experience in waste management, environmental services, or related field, preferred
PHYSICAL:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
- Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow, fog).
