Direct Support Professional - BURTON ICF - 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM Monday - Friday

• Assists individuals with self-help skills (i.e. toileting, eating, etc.)
• Implements facilitated plans.
• Monitors individuals and completes monthly progress reports on all objectives.
• Keeps daily payroll sheets of work accomplished.
• Assists in the evaluation and placement of individuals for various jobs.
• Assists workshop supervisor in any aspect of vocational training.
• Transports individuals to and from Burton Center and on field trips.
• Keeps a daily van maintenance sheet, mileage sheet, and accountability sheet.
• Reports malfunctions immediately to transportation supervisor in writing.
• Supervises individuals during preprogram breaks, lunch, and all special activities.
• Assists with extracurricular activities.
• Provide one on one care to individual if that level of care is required for position, following plan of care of the individual, to include, but not limited to feeding, toileting, etc.
• Attends initial Burton Center staff orientation, in-services and workshops as appropriate to enhance job performance.
• Administer medications if required.
  
  

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.Experience: One-year experience in working with individuals with disabilities and special needs preferred.Licenses: Valid SC driver's licenseGeneral Requirements: Clear oral and written communication skills.Physical Requirement: Direct care to include: Assistance in work shop setting to include feeding and toileting. Lift 25lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and squat. Ability to stand or walk for long period of time. Ability to drive and transport individuals including wheel chair bound.
