Trucking Manager - WTX

Must live within 40 mile radius of Midland/Odessa area.

Must be bilingual

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager reports to the Director of West Texas Trucking and manages a team of Drivers, Operators and Field Hands in Burton’s day-to-day delivery on customer needs and expectations with the goal of achieving departmental performance goals. This includes resource allocation, employee engagement, trucking program development and delivery, supervision and management of resources, financial management and the quality aspects of delivery operations. This position will require time in the office and in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage day-to-day assignment of jobs to team and delivery of those jobs in a way that aligns with budgetary requirements and meets or exceeds expectations for quality and customer satisfaction.
• Develop a high-performing team of consistent, professional employees who are a positive reflection of Burton and our values. This includes participation in recruiting, performance management and separations.
• Lead the team in a way that exudes professionalism, respect, safety, fairness and integrity to develop and grow trust-based relationships with employees and customers.
• Ensure timely field ticketing and payroll accuracy.
• Solicit business from assigned customers, serving as an extension of Sales to expand business relationships and revenue.
• Perform annual performance management activities for direct reports, aligned with HR practices.
• Analyze daily performance measures; identify weaknesses, recommending changes to the Director of Trucking to ensure that division/company productivity objectives are achieved.
• Maintain a safe and positive work atmosphere.
• Participate in the execution of strategic initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and collaborate effectively with other Burton departments.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, along with on-call duties.
• Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• 5 Years in management
• Experienced in oilfield and/or trucking operations.
• Ability to develop and nurture trust-based professional relationships.
• Exudes integrity, trustworthiness, courage, and optimism in taking on challenges and ambiguity.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate conflict and build consensus via a can-do attitude and sense of urgency.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to listen well, accept constructive criticism from external and internal sources, seeking to always improve through a calm demeanor.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Self-starter who works well under pressure through prioritization, expectation management, a calm demeanor and simple, determined grit.
• Effective verbal and written communicator.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
