The Breakdown;
The Hardgoods Lead’s responsibility is to manage existing and develop new hardgoods and anon business across multiple distribution channels within the defined territory – educating Burton’s consumer and generating sales when possible. The Hardgoods Lead is the primary day to day contact for dealers and consumers and is responsible for driving successful sell-in, sell-thru and service programs for Burton hardgoods and anon business. Additionally, this role is responsible to service consumers, DTC stores, resorts and premium accounts in the territory as assigned, as well as collaborate with Senior Area Manager to deliver the required assets, activations, sales programs, and product assortments to support merchandising and business plans.

- Represent Burton and Anon in a professional manner with a positive attitude towards regional accounts, consumers, and media where required.
- Provide best in class customer service through all channels.
- Establish, develop, and maintain sustainable business and customer relationships across multiple distribution channels, understanding their unique needs and business challenges.
- Primary day to day contact for dealers, responsible for driving successful sell-in, sell-thru and service programs for Hardgoods and anon.
- Identify and optimize sales, meet sales targets, and explore all sales opportunities following best in brand guidelines.
- In-store sales support for premium wholesale accounts, resorts, & customer connection (where applicable).
- Analyze market and competitors, track wholesale sales, provide needed reports and maintain proper information flow about Burton hardgoods and anon business in the region.
- Responsible for the education of consumers, DTC store staff, and premium dealer sales staff through seasonal clinics, on snow demo, summer camp support, showings, regular visits, and regional events support (where applicable), utilizing virtual and digital tools where applicable.
- Responsible for on snow activations in region year-round - including supporting summer camp operations on Mt Hood.
- When required, work with the Burton internal merchandising team to establish and implement best in class merchandising standards throughout assigned territory.
- Collaborate with Brand Specialist and DTC teams on Flagship location event support (Leading Localism).
- Collaborate with Account Specialists (dealer service management) on managing preseason order confirmations and implementation of efficient shipping strategies (Pull Forward, Priority Account, Fill Rates).
- When required, assist Senior Area Manager in regional sales/product forecasting and planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business.
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience in sporting goods and/or apparel/outdoor business.
- Proven record of successful execution of sales strategies and programs with well-known brands.
- Ability to visualize product assortments and influence dealer’s assortment planning process in support of Burton’s Strategic Business Objectives.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Outgoing personality, agile, active, and sales-driven attitude.
- Team player with key personal characteristics of reliability, flexibility, trustworthiness, and precision.
- Excellent self-organization and time management skills, ability to deal with multiple issues.
- Ability to deliver to sales goals in a changing market.
- Good presentation, written and communication skills.
- Good skills with all office software applications and Internet.
- Extensive in-territory travel required plus possible additional travel to Burton HQ and other locations if required.
