What are the responsibilities and job description for the IREAD Bus Driver position at BUS GARAGE?
Current MSD of Mt. Vernon bus driver highly preferred. Drive a school bus during the IREAD-3 Summer School Program.
This job requires the ability and necessary skills to safely transport children, good communication skills, ability to make sound judgments regarding student safety, and a willingness to work with people in a pleasant manner. Bus driving experience is preferred. In addition, the following are required:
A. CDL with S Endorsement, Class B with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement
B. Indiana Bus Driver Certification
C. Approved bus driving skills
D. Other requirements as indicated by school district policy
Effective Date: May 27-June 6, 2025
Hours: The length of time on duty will be dependent upon student enrollment with a four-hour minimum. Approximate drive time hours would be 7:00-8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (student class time will be 8:00-11:00 a.m.) Exact number of drivers and routes needed still to be determined.
