Director of Education, Events, and Membership
Summary of Position : The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA), a prominent Washington, D.C., association devoted to supporting the work of state and provincial securities regulators, is seeking to hire a Director of Education, Events, and Membership. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director serves as a member of the senior management team helping to advance NASAA’s investor protection mission.
The Director provides strategic vision and leadership in 1) executing NASAA’s enterprise-wide learning strategy and assessing its efficacy; 2) planning NASAA events; 3) administering NASAA’s volunteer program; and 4) managing the technology used to support these functions. The Director leads a team of professionals with significant experience in these core areas.
The Director works closely with NASAA’s leadership and various committees in providing professional development and skills training for NASAA’s members, including both online learning and in-person / hybrid training programs. NASAA conducts 8-9 training programs for its members each year, with content generally developed by committees made up of NASAA members.
The Director coordinates with NASAA members and staff to deliver high-quality conferences, with two held each year, one in Washington, D.C., and the other in a NASAA member jurisdiction.
The Director administers NASAA’s volunteer program, supporting the application process for service on committees and project groups.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all operational details of the Education, Events, and Membership Department, adhering to NASAA’s policies and budget.
- Work with committees to implement high-quality education and training programs for NASAA members.
- In consultation with the Professional Development Committee, manage the implementation of NASAA’s learning strategy.
- Oversee NASAA’s Learning Management System (Elevate), including course offerings and user experience enhancements.
- Collaborate with committees and senior management to provide strategic direction and innovation.
- Oversee NASAA’s Association Management System (iMIS).
- Develop recommendations for new technologies to enhance NASAA’s systems.
- Collaborate with conference chairs and staff to develop and execute NASAA’s conferences.
- Engage and manage relationships with NASAA Members to encourage participation in training programs and conferences.
- Administer NASAA’s Volunteer Program, including the collection of applications for committee assignments.
- Oversee technology vendors providing assistance at training programs and conferences.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
