Qualifications (expected on day 1):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with solar panel installation or roofing, safety protocols, and working at heights is essential
- Familiarity with batter backups and off-grid systems is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals
- Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
- Must be proficient in the daily use of smartphones and tablets for various work-related duties
- Familiarity with use of extension ladders
- Comfortable working in attics and confined spaces
- Ability to manage a job and lead a small crew
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliable attendance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working Conditions: This position requires working outdoors, often at elevated heights, on sloped roofs, and in various weather conditions. The job may also require travel to job sites throughout the local area.
- Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to work in a variety of positions, including standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

Job Summary: As a Solar Roof Installer, you will be required to lead the entire roof installation. This position begins by reviewing plans off site prior to installation to clarify any questions and verify material being delivered to the site. You will need to do an initial walk through with the customer and project manager, layout the entire roof, prioritize and direct the team, while continuing to stay 2 steps ahead in order to efficiently complete projects on time. You will overlook the quality control on roof penetrations, wiring, and installing of solar panels while maintaining accurate records of roof layouts within our software system. Continual communication with the owner, team, and project manager is a must before, during, and after every job to ensure a better, more professional product each and every job. You will be challenged both professionally and as an individual to become better in all that you do. You will manage a clean and safe work site as well as company vehicle and shop. You will be required to complete and maintain accurate documentation of work performed with our software system. Your feedback in team and company meetings is expected in order to create a more cohesive team and look to better the individuals around you. You will play a versatile role in our solar maintenance operations, encompassing not only solar system inspections but also performing maintenance tasks, and executing repairs with precision and expertise. You will be instrumental in upholding the efficiency and longevity of our clients' solar systems. Our reputation requires you to provide exceptional customer service to clients at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain solar systems on rooftops and ground mounts, ensure proper wiring, connections, and alignment
- Lay out and measure solar panel arrays
- Install and connect electrical wiring and components to solar panels
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation of work performed
- Collaborate efficiently to meet project deadlines
- Constantly keep ahead of the team to drive their efficiency and sense of accomplishment
- Complete the installation of products associated with residential PV systems
- Perform removals and reinstalls of pre-existing installations
- Assist with roofing tasks, including addressing roof leaks, conducting repairs, and performing maintenance
- Pull materials and stock the work vehicle for the day's jobs, ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in order
- Support job safety and crew operations, including staging materials, providing site work support, assisting with site preparation, and cleanup
- Provide regular updates on job status, complete necessary paperwork, and take photos as required
- Utilize tablet/smartphone effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the installation process
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success
