Responsibilities:
The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing sound and video equipment used in conferences, concerts, meetings, webinars, and presentations, ensuring high quality audio and visual output by managing cables, mixing sound, monitoring feeds, and troubleshooting technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Setup and Operation: Setting up and operating audio and video equipment including microphones, speakers, cameras, projectors, video switcher, lighting systems, and recording devices according to event requirements.
- Signal Management: Connecting cables, routing audio and video signals, adjusting levels, and ensuring proper signal flow.
- Sound Mixing: Mixing live sound inputs, adjusting volume levels, and managing sound effects as needed.
- Video Production: Operating camera systems, switching between video sources, and managing video displays.
- Technical Support: Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, identifying repair needs, and performing minor repairs.
- Client Communication: Collaborating with event organizers to understand production needs, confirm technical details, and address any issues.
- Pre-Production Planning: Assessing event requirements, selecting appropriate equipment, and creating technical layouts
- Post-Production Support: Recording events, transferring media files, and assisting with post-production editing if necessary
Specific Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience with AV equipment, including digital signal processing, networking protocols, and basic electronics.
- Able to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Able to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- A good working knowledge of computers.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, high lift equipment, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
- Open to occasional travel.
General Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be comfortable using technology, including computers, cell phones, a wide range of applications, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be comfortable with heights and enclosed spaces.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work both individually with little supervision as well as part of a team.
