Fire Protection Systems Designer I – Entry Level
Empire Fire Protection is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Fire Sprinkler System Designer / Project Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing fire sprinkler system projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with seasoned professionals at our company to learn the industry. Key Responsibilities
- Design Fire Sprinkler Systems : Utilize AutoCAD, AutoSprink and other design software to create detailed drawings and plans for fire sprinkler systems in accordance with industry standards and local regulatory requirements. This will involve construction site visits, climbing ladders, talking with contractors, among other things.
- Project Management : Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful completion of fire sprinkler system installations. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Permitting and Compliance : Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Material Procurement : Coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment required for fire sprinkler system installations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Site Visits and Inspections : Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, participate in pre-construction meetings, and oversee installation activities. Perform quality assurance inspections to verify compliance with design plans and specifications.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, contracts, change orders, and project reports. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and any potential issues or delays.
- Continuous Learning and Development : Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in fire protection technology. Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in fire sprinkler system design and project management.
