Job Description
A Warehouse Associate assists with all aspects of the warehouse as directed by Fulfillment Lead or Fulfillment Manager, including shipping, receiving and inventory. A Warehouse Associate must be physically fit to fulfill their day-to-day duties which include:
- Pick both individual items and case products from pick bins, shelves or pallets.
- Prepare products for shipment.
- Pack products on pallets with the heaviest and/or largest items on the bottom of the pallet.
- Pack products on pallets making sure all products are packed safely and securely for shipment.
- Operate a hand-powered pallet jack to move pallets throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to learn, understand and follow fulfillment processes at BIG.
- Ability to accurately pick orders as detailed on the pick tickets.
- Ability to identify where changes/efficiencies can be brought to existing process.
- Ability to use necessary fulfillment equipment and become certified as needed.
- Ability to organize inventory bins, re-stock inventory and clean the facility as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe & organized work area.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general education degree.
- Two years of warehouse/fulfillment experience.
- Shipping experience preferred.
Requirements/Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a consistent, positive attitude and exhibits attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze issues and solve problems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 40# frequently
- Ability to bend, lift & stand for at least 8 hours of a day.
- Ability to operate a hand-powered pallet jack.
