We are seeking a skilled Electronics Fabrication Technician to support our Test Engineering department in designing and fabricating equipment used for the development and manufacturing of tactical hardware. This role involves assembling electronic and electro-mechanical components, including circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and multi-bay cabinet assemblies, following engineering drawings and MIL-STD requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble electronic and electro-mechanical components per engineering specifications.
- Solder and place components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
- Assemble wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and mounting hardware installation.
- Integrate sub-assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet systems for Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
- Utilize computer-based programs for job status updates, quality inspections, and engineering changes.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, draftsmen, procurement, and quality inspectors to resolve design or process issues.
- Communicate any fabrication concerns to management and engineers both verbally and in writing.
- Follow military and industry standards for soldering and assembly quality.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (No Bachelor's degree required).
- More than 3years of manufacturing setting experience in areas such as cable and harness assembly, SMT board fabrication, or military product maintenance.
- Prior certification in soldering and harness assembly to MIL-STD requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and software tools for documentation and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a related field.
- Soldering certification (J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721).
- Experience in procurement and acquisition of test materials.
