Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, supporting patients through their recovery process, and ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and health status, recognizing changes that may require immediate intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and post-discharge care.
- Perform necessary procedures such as suturing, intravenous therapy, and inhalation treatments as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members including physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with relevant experience.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred; familiarity with ICU or PICU is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of critical care practices and protocols.
- Experience or training in ophthalmology or CT procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
