1. Clinical Oversight and Patient Care
- Supervising Patient Care: Ensure that patients receive high-quality care, assess the needs of patients, and intervene when necessary.
- Clinical Decision-Making: Provide expert clinical advice to staff nurses and healthcare team members.
- Patient Assessment: Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
2. Staff Management
- Staff Supervision: Oversee and manage a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals on the unit.
- Scheduling: Create and manage nursing staff schedules, ensuring that the unit is adequately staffed at all times.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to current clinical practices, protocols, and standards.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance reviews for nursing staff and provide constructive feedback to improve care delivery.
- Conflict Resolution: Address any issues or conflicts that arise within the team or with patients and families.
3. Administrative and Operational Management
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage unit budgets, ensuring resources are utilized effectively and cost-efficiently.
- Policy and Protocol Adherence: Ensure that the unit follows all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and healthcare laws.
- Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate care delivery to meet quality standards, including patient safety, care outcomes, and infection control.
