What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant II position at BUSINESS OFFICE?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business/finance-related field with a minimum of 12 hours in accounting or related field;
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in an accounting office, school district accounting office preferred;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with significant knowledge and experience in Excel;
- Familiar with internal accounting controls, software system security, and accounting procedures;
- Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting problems, develop data, and recommend improved procedures;
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work independently and be a customer service-oriented self-starter;
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$59,028 (BA-3)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2024-2025
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review and approve electronic purchase orders according to district policies and guidelines
- Reconcile assigned bank accounts and communicate with district personnel to clear outstanding items.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and communicate with district personnel to clear outstanding items.
- Clear due to/from accounts including warehouse inventory clearing and prepare associated transfers to distribute funds.
- Work with finance office personnel and internal audit to mitigate problem areas at campus and department locations.
- Prepare assigned monthly journal entries for month-end and year-end close.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Financial Services or the Director of Financial Services.
