Duncan Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Business Processing Solutions, LLC, is a full-service transportation management company and a leading provider of parking and tolling management solutions. We support municipal and commercial clients with citation processing, debt collection, DMV registered owner identification, back office transaction processing, image review, customer service center and customer experience (CX) operations, and integrated on-street parking management services.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Booting Officer is responsible for immobilizing scofflaw vehicles, handling in-person customer payments via cash, check, or credit card. Also responsible for coordinating vehicle tows for eligible vehicles. This position requires the ability to handle customer escalations, large volume cash handling, and a professional demeanor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrolling & Vehicle Immobilization
- Patrol the city of Pittsburgh in search of Scofflaw vehicles.
- Identify scofflaw vehicles, immobilize by placing a boot on the wheel.
- Coordinate & communicate with other officers & teammates.
- Keep accurate and thorough records in logbooks and processing system (Auto-process).
- Interact with vehicle owner/occupants, give information & provide direction as needed.
- Interface with Pittsburgh Police & towing contractor as needed.
- Complete daily report of patrol activities.
Customer Service
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor for in-person customer interactions.
- Answer general customer questions regarding payment options based upon their unique account identification information.
- Responsible for closing and securing the payment lobby at the time designated by the company.
Payment Desk and Deposit Reconciliation
- Receives payments from customers in person.
- Responsible for securing monies.
- Provide change and balance cash drawer.
- Track and archive payment transactions and account notes.
- Balance cash drawer and reconcile daily work.
- Create deposit and work with vendors to send to the bank and/or corporate office.
Release & Tow Dispatch
- Communicate with teammates in the field regarding the release of booted vehicles.
- Coordinate Tows with tow contractor.
- Record towed vehicles in processing system.
- Assist with monthly unclaimed vehicle auction.
- Supervise citizen access to vehicles in secure police impound.
- Authorize release of vehicles from police impound.
Other duties as assigned
- Equipment Maintenance.
- Documents & Sensitive Materials Transport.
- Enforcement Vehicle Cleaning & Maintenance.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required
- Prior experience in handling payments preferred
- Experience in parking enforcement helpful
- Experience in law enforcement preferred
- Security experience preferred
- Loss prevention experience preferred
- Code enforcement experience preferred
- Experience with auto-process preferred
- Experience handling Cash & Credit Card Transactions preferred
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematics
- Must have Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook required
- Must have basic computer skills
- Valid Driver’s License required
DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE
- Discerning payment errors and how to correct them to ensure client and company compliance with SLA and contracts.
- Discern if an immobilized vehicle can be left in its current position, or if it will need to be impounded due to safety concerns, or other factors including traffic flow, refuse pickup, and special events.

- This includes tasks like data entry, report writing, and communication.

ADDENDUM
Working hours: (4) ten hour shifts of 8am-6:30pm Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, depending on business needs.
