Landscape Construction Team Leader

• Reads and interprets landscaping blueprints and CAD drawings, reviews plan with production manager and implements the landscape construction plan.
• Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to mini excavator, skid loader, mini skid loader, cutoff saw, as well as other industry specific tools and equipment.
• Operates and maintains automatic transmission vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations.
• Routinely interacts with clients throughout the processes of projects, answering questions, responding to client requests, and providing a walk-through at the job’s completion.
• Completes the necessary time tracking via Aspire Crew Mobile App as well as material allocations for project installation.
• Plans and organizes the job, ensuring efficiency and safety are prioritized on a daily basis.
• Manages a team of two or more employees, including handling personnel issues on site and training employees on policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
• Briefs supervisors and make recommendations on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns.
• Works as a member of the team.
• Maintains assigned equipment and notifies mechanic / management of needed repairs.
• Helps with snow removal in the winter months.
• Coordinates as needed with service partners for completion of projects.
• Other responsibilities as required to support and advance the company’s objectives.

• This position requires a high school diploma or GED. A two- or four-year degree in construction or horticultural
• related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 2 years landscape team leader experience is required without a degree.
• The successful individual will have a working knowledge of standard hardscape and horticultural practices including patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, low-voltage lighting, planting, fertilization and irrigation installation and troubleshooting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are necessary.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean record. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
• This position requires that the individual become certified within one year of employment as follows:
  • Ohio Nursery & Landscaping Association Certification (OCNT); or NALP Landscape Industry Certified
  • First aid / cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Able to handle the physical demands and outdoor working conditions of the job.
