The Landscape Sales & Design Professional plays a critical role in differentiating the company from its competition and in achieving its sales objectives. The client facing Landscape Designer takes clients all the way from being a sales lead, to being a highly satisfied client who refers friends and family.

The Position
- Full-time salaried; exempt
- Reports to General Manager
- No direct reports
Responsibilities
- Prepares and provides high quality landscape designs, specifications, and cost estimates that meet/exceed clients needs and expectations
- Sell profitable design/build proposals that meet or exceed sales goals
- Manage projects sold (does not manage crew)
- This position is responsible for bringing a consistent flow of profitable design/build projects to the company by responding to company generated leads and continually prospecting for new business
- Other tasks as needed to support the company's objectives
- Initial client interview and consultation
- Site inspection and assessment
- Generate high quality landscape designs via design software
- Prepare thorough and accurate pricing proposals
- Presentation of the design and proposal in a professional manner to the client
- Sell the project within approved financial guidelines (size of project, costs, profit margin)
- Provide specifications and project management on all projects sold
- Actively monitor and aggressively pursue all proposals in progress
Requirements (Ideal Candidate)
- Sufficient relevant skill & experience to be effective in this role
- Able to operate landscape design software
- Able to generate 3D renderings
- Willingness to not only design, but also sell and manage projects
- Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Able to represent the company in a professional manner
- Able to work with very minimal supervision
- Be a motivated high-achiever
- Able to demonstrate leadership - especially leadership by example
- Live within 1-hour of Kalamazoo, MI or be willing to relocate
- Be a good fit in a family-first and friendly office
- Willing and able to pass drug test
