Dispatch Customer Care Specialist
- Responsible for professional, timely, and effective internal and external driver interaction via phone calls and system messages.
- Building and maintaining a positive attitude to strengthen driver satisfaction and productivity
- Provide excellent service to our customers
- Maintain driver detention time and manage equipment through effective communication and planning to improve operational efficiency and profitability
- Efficiently assign loads to drivers to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and driver retention for assigned market areas.
- Keep accurate inventory of trailers (including trailer numbers) for each plant served, making sure all vendors have a sufficient trailer supply. Obtain incident reports regarding trailer damage from all plants. Coordinate repairs and annual service for trailers and trucks with BTTL (mechanic shop).
- Complete proof of deliveries each day, ensuring pick-ups and deliveries were performed on time and as expected by the customers
- Responsible for driver load monitoring, including resolving issues that may affect the scheduled times for pick-up or delivery, while communicating issues with customer service. These problems normally include truck mechanical problems, traffic or weather issues or customer directed shipment changes
- Take call as needed to monitor email, phone calls and text messages from drivers and/or customers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2years of dispatch experience, preferably in a transportation environment
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Ability to process information with high level of accuracy
- Must have highly developed organization skills, including the ability to help others organize functions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Regular, punctual attendance
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Anticipate, recognize and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group or situational level.
- Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers
- Ability to meet or exceed team/driver needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
- Ability to exemplify safe working conditions in compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations
