Nurse Practitioner Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, manage patient records, and assist with day-to-day operations of the office. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The Nurse Practitioner position is offered on a part-time or contract basis, with the possibility of full-time work in the future. Board Certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner will be considered. Additional certification or willingness to pursue certification in Hormone Management, including Bioidentical Hormone Therapy, is strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Provide direct patient care, in person and via Telehealth, for Primary Care, Women’s Health, Medical Weight Loss, and Hormone Management populations.
• Conduct minor primary care procedures, IUD insertions and other in-office treatments for Primary Care, Women’s Health, and Hormone Management patients.
• Communicate effectively and timely with patients regarding care, appointments, lab work, and follow-ups.
• Provide patient referrals to specialists, as needed.
• Create and maintain comprehensive patient charts, cases, and billing records in the electronic health records (EHR) system regarding all patient care.
• Experience with AthenaHealth EHR is preferred.
• Follow all clinic procedures and maintain strict patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and all other relevant state and federal laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

· Master of Science in Nursing degree or Doctorate in Nursing (required).

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical/technical tasks.

· Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, with changes in workflow, tasks or processes, as needed.

· Possess organizational, time management, and communication skills with a professional demeanor of a healthcare provider.

· Empathy, critical thinking, and respect for all people.

· Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills, as needed.

Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Certifications:

· Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Certification Healthcare Provider Completion Card, required.

· Board Certification as (either) a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner, required.

· Certification in hormone management, including bioidentical hormone therapy strongly preferred – or willingness to pursue certification.

Licensure:

· WV State Board of Nursing APRN, active license required.

· WV State Board of Nursing, RN, active license required.

REPORTS TO:

The Nurse Practitioner will report to Heather ONeal – Owner, Busy Moms Healthcare.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
