- Dress grinding wheels, according to specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary, stopping machines when problems occur.
- Inspect, feel, and measure work pieces to ensure that surfaces and dimensions meet specifications.
- Set up and operate grinding or polishing machines to grind metal work pieces such as dies, parts, and tools.
- Remove finished work pieces from machines and place them in boxes or on racks, setting aside pieces that are defective.
- File or finish surfaces of work pieces, using prescribed hand tools.
- Select and mount grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
- Perform basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
- Remove and replace worn or broken machine parts, using hand tools.
- Compute numbers, widths, and angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges, and adjust tools to produce specified cuts.
- Complies with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision or assistance.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Ability to manufacture special tooling to print as well as regrind used tooling.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and their materials, geometries, and coatings.
- Must demonstrate a strong detail orientation and have the ability to accurately produce quality products.
- If required as part of the job, the individual must meet the specific requirements for cab crane operation as outlined on the Cab Crane job description addendum.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Specific experience grinding end mills, drills, step tools, and similar tools
