What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Teacher 2025-26 (Grades K - 5) position at Butler Academy?
Butler Academy is seeking the world's most amazing Elementary Teachers for the 2025-26 school year in hopes of pushing our Excellence to the next level.
At Butler Academy, or BA for short, we’re committed to building something extraordinary, and we won’t settle for anything less than the most talented, innovative, passionate, and committed educators we can find. Our goal is to engage teachers who are committed to closing the achievement gap by making BA a dynamic learning environment where every child is genuinely embraced and uplifted.
As a Compassionate School (also called a trauma-informed school) we are focused on helping our teachers and support staff understand adverse childhood experiences and fundamental brain development. This understanding will help them craft pedagogy, recognize the importance of self-care, correctly interpret behaviors, and manage negative behaviors successfully with compassion. We view the emotional wellbeing of our entire learning community as the primary catalyst for academic progress.
Becoming a great teacher takes continuous practice and a commitment to personal growth in tandem with a school culture that truly embraces a growth-for-all mindset. To facilitate this, BA teachers will receive real-time coaching and participate in meaningful weekly feedback and observation sessions with trained instructional coaches.
Our Model:
- BA operates on a modified year-round calendar and serves grades K – 9 for the 2025-26 school year, adding a grade each subsequent year until we are K – 12
