About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our Integrated Product Development Team at Butler Aerospace & Defense. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering environmental and life support systems as well as active thermal control systems for both LEO and DOD & Science value streams.
In this role, you will work closely with Senior Integrated Development Team Leaders and Program Chief Engineers, ensuring that engineering responsibilities are executed on the program while meeting internal and external customer expectations. This includes leading efforts of a cross-functional engineering team and acting as the key interface between program management and engineering.
Your responsibilities will include performing control account manager duties (cost, scope, and schedule), understanding Earned Value analysis of cost and schedule metrics, providing critical evaluation of technical and programmatic tasks, managing scope and tasks across the engineering team, and effectively operating within a matrix environment to manage and identify resource needs.
You will also serve as the technical point of contact for all aspects of the business, including supply chain, operations, manufacturing, etc., supporting preventive and corrective action planning and implementation, and driving failure investigation activities.
