Job Duties
Lead Custodian is responsible to the Supervisor of Custodial Services for general upkeep and cleanliness of all college facilities. Provides some safety/security supplement to Security workforce.

Required knowledge and skills
A. Must have neat personal appearance.
B. Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
C. Able to lift 50 pounds without limitations.
D. Able to climb, stoop, bend and work in awkward positions.
E. Able to follow oral and written instructions and work independent from direct supervision.
F. Must have fundamental computer knowledge.
G. Must be able to safely direct workers under his/her supervision.
H. Must have practical knowledge of cleaning techniques, the use of industrial equipment and chemical products.
I. Knowledge of tile, wood, concrete and carpet floors.
J. Must maintain current SDS sheets in own area.
K. Aware of college’s emergency procedures.
L. Ability to operate all custodial electrical equipment.
M. Responsible for and able to properly use various custodial cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and local, state and federal laws.
N. Able to drive college vehicles, including large vans and trucks.

A. Minimum of two years of general custodial experience.
