Qualifications
The applicant may be requested to authorize the College to procure a consumer report(s) for employment purposes.

A. Knowledge of horticulture and ability to train others to properly care for the college’s plants, grass, trees and shrubs.
B. Ability to weld and layout a variety of welding products and repairs.
C. Ability to form and finish concrete.
D. Ability to do trade related mathematics.
E. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and operate all college small and heavy equipment.
F. Ability to lift 75 pounds.
G. Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and work in awkward positions.
H. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
I. Ability to read blueprints.
J. Knowledge of equipment safety devices and trade related safety standards.
K. Knowledge in the use of transit/level for basic surveying.
L. Injury Prevention: Ability to identify unsafe working conditions.
M. Knowledge in the maintenance, repair, and care of artificial turf. N. Show personal pride in workmanship.
O. Maintain good working relationship with college and community persons and outside vendors.
P. Willingness to work irregular hours and adapt to unscheduled activities.
Q. Have mechanical aptitude.
R. Assist in developing and managing the Departmental budget.
S. Order, control and distribute supplies and materials required to perform assigned tasks.
T. Shows responsibility and trustworthiness for access to various secured areas.
A. Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
B. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
C. Should have 3 years experience in grounds maintenance operations.
D. Previous small and heavy equipment operation preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
