Medical Coder/Denied Claim Specialist

Butler County Clinic, P.C. is a family medicine clinic providing professional care for newborn through geriatric patients by a team of professional and caring individuals.

Job Title: Coding and Denied Claim Specialist

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 coding systems
- Abstract relevant information from medical records to support coding accuracy
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations through continuous education and training
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with coding audits and provide feedback to improve coding accuracy

-Manage claim denials related to authorizations, coding, medical record requests, and coordination of benefits

Experience:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare providers

Note: Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is preferred but not required.
