GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To deliver instructional services to the students in an alternative setting in a manner that is
compatible with students’ learning and achievement.
To provide academic, social and behavioral supports to students whose significant social,
emotional, and behavioral challenges severely impede their educational progress.
To create and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs), instructional
strategies, and therapeutic supports to help students achieve success in the least restrictive
environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist Teaching License— Moderate/Intense Special
Education licensure preferred
- Exemplary knowledge of pedagogical best practices and curriculum
- Proven ability to function as a contributing member of the educational team
- Demonstrated ability to present a professional and positive image through appearance,
behavior, language, and attitude.
- Knowledge of intensive behavioral strategies and Autism (preferred)
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven ability to foster collaborative efforts
- History of good job attendance
- Willing to participate in training, consultation, and evaluation components regarding the
intensive behavior programming
- Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable disease.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board.The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
