GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Assessment Assistant is a valuable member of the school's special education and student support team. The primary objective is to assist in ensuring the well-being and academic success of students by facilitating the assessment, intervention, and monitoring of their emotional, social, and psychological needs. Working under the supervision of licensed school psychologists, the assistant provides essential administrative, clerical, and direct support services to enhance the overall functioning of the school psychology department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
ODE licensure as a teacher, intervention specialist, guidance counselor or as appropriate to position
Knowledge of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.
Willingness/ability to work as a team member.
Good organizational skills.
History of good job attendance.
Demonstrate computer usage skills (with emphasis on database management)
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills
Good public relations skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Capable of working with minimal supervision
Must pass criminal background checks, be free from communicable disease
Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in dealing with sensitive student information.
Ability to assist in implementing behavior management strategies and interventions.
Patience, empathy, and compassion in dealing with students' emotional and behavioral challenges.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
