High School diploma or equivalent
Previous E.M.I.S. experience preferred
Ability to manage large volumes of data
Excellent conceptual understanding of school district structure
Demonstrate leadership ability and technical competence in information management
Ability to work with computers and data processing
Must pass a criminal background check
Background with coding or mathematics desirable
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work with all members of the educational community
Literate with SWOCA computer system and E.M.I.S. screens
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The E.M.I.S. coordinator will coordinate and be responsible for and/or assist with:
The management of student, staff, and financial information ensures the school district's smooth operation and management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To understand, interpret, and communicate the state education management information system guidelines.
To maintain current knowledge of E.M.I.S. and serve as the district's official liaison with the State Department of Education and the Southwest Ohio Computer Association (SWOCA) regarding E.M.I.S. Required to check SWOCA e-mail daily for EMIS-related communications.
To maintain open lines of communication with the Superintendent, Administrative Assistant for Instructional Resources, Treasurer, Administrative Assistant for Business and Planning, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Director of Student Services regarding E.M.I.S.'s impact on state funding.
To serve as the official respondee for E.M.I.S. questions concerns arising from building principals and district data entry personnel.
To direct the collection/creation, maintenance, and transfer of student, staff, and financial information required by the E.M.I.S. standards to the designated date acquisition site in accordance with the specifications and timelines provided by the Ohio Department of Education.
To direct the error correction process of various student and staff reports so that future reaggregation will report accurate information.
To audit and verify the accuracy of data submitted electronically to the Ohio Department of Education.
To work cooperatively with the administrative staff to ensure that the electronic reporting of student and staff data keeps the school district in compliance with the state and federal standards so that the district receives all funds to which it is entitled.
To monitor the work schedules of the district data entry personnel to ensure the required deadlines are met and, in consultation with the Superintendent, arrange for additional data entry services on an as-needed basis.
Maintain an ongoing log of all E.M.I.S. district-related expenditures (personnel, supplies, equipment) and communicate such to the Treasurer.
To attend state and/or local E.M.I.S. training/update programs.
To involve district administrative staff whose duties relate to data required by E.M.I.S. To in-service appropriate district staff regarding E.M.I.S. requirements and procedures.
To maintain confidentiality.
To perform other tasks consistent with the position, as may be required by the Superintendent or designee.

Applicants should have completed the twelfth grade with considerable paid secretarial experience. Applicants must have the ability to type accurately from clear copy and have considerable knowledge of computers. Moderately complex work involving the development, implementation and management of all software applications related to student services. Must demonstrate leadership and responsibility. Should possess ability to manipulate large volumes of data accurately. All applicants meeting the Board and Union requirements will be offered an interview.
