BCRTA is looking for a part-time Facilities Technician to work 10 hours per week, Monday 5p - 8p, Wednesday 4p - 8p, Friday 5p - 8p, with some additional hours for quarterly custodial tasks.

Hourly rate of pay: $15.00

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs routine upkeep of all BCRTA facilities
  • Cleans and maintains standards for offices, and common areas. Duties include, but are not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, trash disposal, dusting, and window cleaning
  • Coordinates cleaning with the Vehicle & Facility Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively; with flexibility and adaptability
  • Completes facility checklist schedules for cleaning as required
  • Evaluates and stocks consumable materials
  • Works with department managers to maintain supply stock
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Follows all BCRTA procedures and policies
  • Attend training events and meetings as assigned
  • Acts as a BCRTA ambassador, projects a positive attitude and promotes superior customer service

Physical Abilities include:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented office environment and a functioning maintenance facility
  • Ability to adjust to changes in shift or work schedules
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position for long periods, kneel/bend, reach overhead, and move throughout the workday
  • Strong sensory skills include good hearing, dexterity, feeling, and eyesight, including color perception and peripheral vision
  • Ability to occasionally push or transport items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Requires some exposure to excessive noise, fumes/odors, some hazardous materials, and dirt/dust

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

Occasional exposure to cleaning chemical fumes.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the basic janitorial cleaning duties
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Attention to detail, ability to memorize and retain
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluently read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to communicate with BCRTA management
  • Work calmly and clearly as a team player

Experience:

  • Entry-level janitorial/cleaning experience

Education:

High School diploma or GED preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean motor vehicle record
