What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hockey Coach (Head and Assistant) position at Butler Golden Tornado Hockey Association?
BGTHA is currently accepting positions for Head and Assistant Coaches for the following teams:
Varsity
Junior Varsity
Middle School
Coaching Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement hockey training programs for individuals and teams
- Plan and conduct practice sessions to improve players' skills and techniques
- Teach players the rules and strategies of the game
- Provide guidance and support to players during games and competitions
- Evaluate players' performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Create a positive and inclusive team environment
- Ensure the safety of players during training sessions and games
- Coordinate with other coaches, team managers, board members and parents as needed
-Head Coaches attend monthly board meeting to report out on team activities and progress
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hockey rules, techniques, and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage behavior and maintain discipline among players
- Experience working with students or children in a coaching or educational setting
- Previous experience playing hockey is a plus
- Ability to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and move around the rink during practices and games
- First Aide or CPR certification is beneficial
-Must be able to complete and pass all USA Hockey Coaching requirements, including Coaches Certification, SafeSport, Appropriate Age Modules and Background Check

Pay: $2,000.00 - $6,000.00 per year

- After school
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
