About the Role
As a Pediatric and Neonatal Transport EMT, you will collaborate with a skilled team of transport specialists, including Nurses, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists, and Physicians. This role involves patient-focused care and the safe operation of ambulances within Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care within EMT scope, with a focus on Pediatric and Neonatal needs.
- Safely transport patients and healthcare crew during both emergent and non-emergency transport.
- Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, dispatch, and medical team members.
- Operate essential communication devices such as portable radios, cell phones, and tablets.
- Ensure all equipment and vehicles meet high standards for cleanliness and operational readiness.
- Participate in continuous learning and training in Pediatric and Neonatal care protocols and transport safety.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Age: 19 years old (insurance requirement).
Licenses/Certifications
- NREMT, DC, and Maryland EMT certification (or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- EVOC certification
- AHA BLS CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire).
Requirements
- 6 months of ambulance operation experience.
- Strong patient care within EMT scope, especially for Pediatric and Neonatal populations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of state EMT protocols.
- Ability to lift 150-200 pounds and pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
- Work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule: three days on three days off.
