What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician/ Utility Operator position at Butler Rural Water #5?
Duties:
Assists with maintaining and repairing water distribution system including fire hydrant, cleanouts, valves, meters, meter pits, pumps, and motors.
Maintenance records and files related to daily assignments.
Complete and submit water sampling, water testing and reporting.
Performing maintenance and repair to assigned vehicles and equipment.
Includes painting, mowing, custodial work.
Ability to learn to operate all equipment safely and effectively.
Effectively interact with customers.
This position is subject to On- Call Rotation outside of normal business hours.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED. Preferred
Knowledge of water distribution and maintenance Preferred but will train.
Ability to obtain a State of Kansas certification; Class 1 Water Facility Operator in a year of hire date. The district will help you obtain your KDHE certification.
Requirements:
Must live within 20 Minutes response time of the District located in Benton, Kansas
Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license and obtain a Class A CDL within one year of hire date.
Must be available for on-call rotation, overtime, weekends, and Holidays.
Work Environment: Willing to work in adverse weather conditions, hazardous elements
Physical Reequipments:
Manual labor including lifting and carrying heavy material up to 75lbs, pushing, pulling and handing of objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
