What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Supervisor position at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners?
Play a key role in the development of communications for our client’s initiatives. Lead internal agency teams thorough project initiation, campaign development and be the centerpiece of the production/implementation process. Further develop internal team and client relationship skills as the primary day-to-day contact—managing the overall work flow between the agency and clients.
This person must wear many hats, and should be able to fluidly move between agency internal development and client-facing management of content. This person would find themselves squarely at the center of the overall process.
Brand Stewardship
● Write creative briefs with strategist and brief creative and media teams
● Provide continuous inspiration to creative team to help communicate strategic direction
● Partner with creative team to present and sell creative work
● Partner with strategy team to monitor competitive activity and industry trends
● Partner with media team and strategy on recommendations and strategic development of media plans
● Review and evaluate creative prior to client presentation to ensure work is on strategy/brief and adheres to all brand standards
● Formulate your POV on the strategic direction, on the work, on client feedback and voice it, both internally and with clients as appropriate
Client Relationship Management
● Maintain consistent dialogue with client to ensure agency is executing in line with their expectations
● Ensure communications success metrics are agreed to in advance of a campaign launch
● Identify and explore growth opportunities for the client account
● Schedule and lead client meetings and presentations of creative concepts; obtain client approvals on creative concepts/campaigns, creative rotations and media plans
● Supervise the weekly client status meetings, which should be managed by the Account Executive
● Create client-facing conference reports as needed
● Manage client’s time/schedule efficiently
Internal Relationship Management
● Provide leadership and direction to all internal team members and agency partners
● Provide guidance to Account Executives (strategy, competitive, client communication skills), including delegation and managing them on assignments.
● In providing client creative feedback to creatives, provide insight and solutions, in addition to delivering the clients’ direction
● Has a point of view (strategic, creative, problem-solving, etc.) that can be articulated and defended, as well as communicate/publish written agency POVs regularly
● Provide issue management and resolution, coming to Account Director with recommended solutions as issues arise
● On high-budget/high-profile projects, Account Supervisor to decide what portions of project (if any) to assign to a Account Executive
● Aid the Account Director and client in development/management of quarterly and annual budgets
● Develop annual scope of work with client and Account Director
● Develop scope of work/project fees for new projects/out of scope projects
Key Relationships
● Strategist: Partners with the strategist to ensure the strategic course for the brand is set and monitored for success
● Creative (ECD, ACD): Partners with creative teams to ensure work is strategic and meets client’s needs
● Media (Director of Integrated Media, Media Supervisor): Partners with media team to develop appropriate media strategies
● Finance: Partners with finance to foster a healthy financial relationship for both client and agency; ensure profitability

- Experience managing multiple accounts at an advertising agency or similar
- Strong knowledge of the creative and production process to help navigate and educate clients
- Excellent ability of setting and managing expectations
- Ability to evaluate work with a strategic lens, providing clear, strategically grounded feedback and suggestions to internal teams
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
